T-shirt Revamp

I am so excited to show you this project I've been working on! I found a kids T shirt at Walmart for $1 but it was a size large, which is way to big for my little girl. It was only $1 and really cute so I bought it anyway. My daughter loves to wear dresses right now and will only wear dresses and skirts. She REFUSES to wear shorts or pants. So I decided to turn the shirt I bought into a "princess" dress. It was really simple and fun to make! I'll show you how I did it, but I forgot to take pictures while I was doing it (I was inspired by an idea and got caught up in the moment, happens often when it comes to crafts). With that being said, please forgive me for my lack of detail in the pictures, they were taken after the dress was finished. So here goes!

First you need a shirt. You can even use one of your old T shirts to make a dress for you little girl.

Then fold it in half.

Then take an old dress of you little one's and fold it in half as well. Next lay the dress on top of the folded in half shirt like you see above. Next, cut the shirt to match the dress. If it has sleeves (like this one does) you want to cut off the sleeves and sew them back on later. I left mine a little bit wider and longer since she has been growing so much lately. 

Then you want to sew up the sides, but remember to leave an opening for an arm hole. I straight stiched mine then went back and zig zag stitched it since I don't have a serger. Then you want to line up your sleeves. Make sure both the sleeve and shirt are both turned inside out. Line up your sleeve and pin it all around. Then sew the sleeves to the shirt. For this part I also straight stitched and zig zag stitched.

Next I cut out a bunch of circles from this zebra material I have. I used a small spool of thread and a spool of ribbon to make a small circle and a larger circle. I just traced the spools then cut out the circles.

Then I arranged the circles how I wanted them on the shirt and pinned them down. Afterwhich, I zig zag stitched the circles to the shirt using black thread.

Waaalaaa! Super easy! I tied a black piece of tool around her waist to add a little something. I love how it turned out!

Girls Craft Night Out!

I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything. I have been super busy! We have been moving on top of a million other things. Things will be slowing down now so I should be back to crafting soon.

The weekend before Easter a couple of girls and I got together to sew skirts for our little girls. It was a lot of fun! Hopefully we'll be able to do another craft night soon. If you want to make the skirts here. The Made blog is so great! She has so many fun projects.

I made this skirt later for an Easter present for her. I added a rosette to the top.

Mothers Day Project!

So, I know it's way past Mothers Day, but I just wanted to show you a project I did for myself for Mothers Day. I saw this and knew I wanted one, so I just used my photoshop and digital scrapbooking stuff and came up with this! I put their birthdays right underneath their names

I love this! Here's the font I used for the names , and the font I used for the birthdays, and the "and". They are both free downloads! And the scrapbook kit I used, I got from Shabby Princess! They have tons of scrapbook kits you can download for free, and they are all adorable!! Happy Crafting!

Peanut Butter Creme Smore's Brownies!

I don't know about you guys, but I am really craving summer right now!! The swimming, flowers, parks, campfires, and SMORE'S!! So, in honor of summer, I have a fun recipe to share with you! It's a twist off the ordinary s'more, and it is absolutely delicious! You must try them!

MMMM!! Look at all those yummy layers! Graham cracker, brownie, and marshmallow! Isn't this just calling your name?!
You could even package them up, and give them to friends and neighbors!

Peanut butter cream s'mores brownies

First layer:

1 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs (I just put the crackers in my food processor)

1/8 cup sugar

1/2 cup melted butter

Stir cracker crumbs and sugar together. Add melted butter until all the crumbs are wet. Press into a 9*13 pan and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.

Second layer:

Any boxed brownie, or homemade brownie recipe you like. I use a boxed just to make it go faster. Let it cool all the way.

Top layer:

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup peanut butter

10 oz semi sweet chocolate chips (if you use milk, it might be too sweet)

1/2 bag mini marshmallows

Melt butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chips in a saucepan on low heat until melted. When it's totally melted, remove from heat and let it cool for 10-15 minutes. Add the marshmallows to the chocolate and pour it on top of the brownie. Put it directly in the fridge to cool, it makes them easier to cut. Bring them to room temperature before serving. Enjoy!

Say Goodbye to Boring Headbands!

I came across a fun headbad tutorial awhile back. These are so easy to make and they don't cost very much either. I used a pack of dollar store headbands (thick and thin) and some fat quarters that I found in Walmart. Go here for the tutorial.

Above is my beautiful model. She is kindly modeling ALL of the headbands that I made.



 The purple one was her favorite! It just matches her Rapunzel dress so well, don't you think? :)

The ruffled look was probably one of my favorites and it was so much fun to do!

I'm Back With a New Kids Craft!

I am back! My power cord for my computer broke so I haven't been able to update in awhile. After waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting, (long story) the right part came today. HOORAY! My little girl and I have been up to a lot so be prepared for an update overload! :)

First off, I have a tutorial. It's kind of lame, but we were bored and I needed a craft, so I looked at my supplies and came up with an idea to make a book with matching popsicle sticks that Skyli can follow along with. So......

This is what you'll  need (I didn't use the whole punch, but if you could use it and tie the pages together with a ribbon or with one of those ring clip things)......



I am missing a few pictures, so sorry about that! Just cut your paper into fourths then staple it across the top. (I started out with one staple, but didn't like how the pages turned with one staple so I added 2 for a total of 3 staples) You could also staple on the side. Then I made up my own story and wrote it on there.  I bought a huge thing of foam stickers from walmart. They are all spring related, so our book is titled Spring!

I started with March and wrote a couple of things that happen in March, April, and May then I wrote about what happens during springtime. I left room for stickers so Sky could help me put the stickers on the page. 

I know the story and artwork are A-MAZ-ING! haha What can I say? I'm a crafter, not an author or an illustrator. Sky then helped me by coloring the cover and then by putting stickers on the pages. Like on the April page we put an umbrella sticker, etc. 

Then we took popsicle sticks and stuck the stickers on them, so that she could find and hold up the popsicle stick that matches the page. There will be some sticky stuff exposed after you put the sticker onto the stick. Here's how you can fix that. Take a little bit of flour and put it in a bowl, then rub the sticker side of the stick in the flour. Next tap off the excess flour and it shouldn't be sticky anymore.

And that's it! So simple right? Sky had so much fun with this craft! I love crafting with her! Oh, and yes, there is a deer on her marker basket. It was a sticker she found and put it on there. I know, it's just awesome! haha
